-
How to use it??
-
See the complete tutorialthe complete tutorial on PopUpOFF
-
Briefly: there are three modes you can use.
-
Hard mode - most effective and fast method to deal with annoying content on page. Removes all stuck to screen elements. Also prevents their further appearing on any page of given website until you disable it.
-
Easy mode works little bit slower. Tech info why. Do exactly the same thing as "Hard" one, except it leaves navigation bars/sticky headers, so you can change topic, etc.
-
You can activate one of them by pressing Alt + x. Disabled by default. Enable at options page.
-
Briefly: there are Aggressive and Moderate modes. Aggressive removes all sticky elements from your screen while Moderate is supposed to leave headers and side/navigation bars.
-
Moderate mode is default for most websites. You can change it at the options page. A lot of websites are using popups to show you some information, like changing the language or writing a tweet. Keep that in mind. Moderate mode isn't perfect yet, so I'd be happy if you wrote some feedback to me.
-
You can also prevent paid content from reducing on some websites.

Who am I???
-
I am RomanistHere - an independent developer who built this extension for myself.
-
Every day I face a great number of websites that try to impose different things on me. It could be ads, distributions, courses. Anything. Now I am officially tired of it. If you are as well, welcome aboard.
-
I haven't found any extension that could help me here (see the video). So the algorithm was easy. Face problem -> check if there is an existing solution -> check if you are able to resolve it -> do it. So did I.
-
I cooperate with no one. I do not collect any information from the extension. You can help me more by sending your feedback to email or in twitter.
-
Feel free to use it!

Cons and pros
-
Ultra-lightweight. Ultra-simple. Open source. Does the things other tools don't.
-
Addictive. Literally. After you use it, there will be no way back. Other day, I had to use another computer without it installed there. And it was the worst few hours of internet experience in my life. I had to close these annoying infinite bars and popups, ugh...
-
Extension is still in development. So there will be new features and improvements. But there also could be bugs. I will keep you in touch.
-
Non-commercial. Free and open-source software (FOSS). It is completely ad-free.
-
PopUpOFF does not block content ads. Use it in pair with any ad blocker.
-
-
Future features
-
Automatic mode, so you will have no reason to even click. But we need much more active users first. This mode is going to be based on your united experience.

-
Remember, it's a non-commercial product. I can't sell your data. I don't even collect it. The only money I can get - is from you guys. Donate if you think your joy is worth it.
-
Important thing! I could not test PopUpOFF everywhere, so if you think you found a website where it has to work but it isn't, please, write right to me - it will help a lot.

How can you make the internet better?
-
Everyone does want to live in a better world. So do you, don't you? It is very simple. Here is an article I wrote. It will make you rethink something.
-
Briefly, I'm telling there how much it depends on you whether the world(of the internet) is going to improve or deteriorate. By choosing products you use you are defining our future. I do really encourage you to read it.
-
PopUpOFF is the good one. By using it you're making an impact on software development. "It" here means a good product. And there are few ways to increase your good impact: encourage your surroundings to use it, collaborate with its developer/s, give feedback about its work, comment and rate it everywhere you can.
-
Personally for me, you can share your ideas with me. I would be excited to help you.
